Zambezi Niyatu

The Lower Zambezi, a vital component of the Zambezi Basin, is the area’s most exceptional resource and aids in the social, economic, and environmental advancement of Southern Africans. A Mwembeshi Resources Ltd.-owned open cast copper mine named Kangaluwi is threatening the area’s natural resources, housing villages, rivers, land, and animals. The SaveZambezi SafeZambezi alliance, which is lobbying against mining, was seeking for a way to highlight the Lower Zambezi’s beauty and the effects of mining there.

This was made a reality by Giraffe in a TVC that persuaded petitioners to declare their opposition to the mining. The petitioners’ reputations as upright people will help them reach a broad audience. Lower Zambezi is where this production is taking place.

The preliminary goal of halting the mining proceedings was achieved through the publicity this campaign gained.
