Tusk
The Tusk Conservation Awards is an annual celebration of conservationists across Africa where, each year, one conservationist is recognized and awarded the prize by the Duke of Cambridge for their hard work and dedication in this field.
Ian Stevenson, CEO of Conservation Lower Zambezi in Zambia was nominated for the 2020 Tusk Award and was one of three finalists in the continent. Under normal circumstances, a team from the UK would travel to Zambia to film Ian’s story, however, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this was not possible.
Rather, the media team in the UK was looking for a local production company to film high-quality footage that matched their standards and they approached Giraffe to undertake this work.
After receiving the brief and script from Maia Films in the UK, our team was tasked with translating the script into visuals and capturing outstanding footage of Ian’s work and the Lower Zambezi National Park where he works.
Although he did not win the Tusk Award of 2020, Ian remains an inspiration and local hero for us and many others in Zambia.
